Resolved Piece

After working with colour and light and taking some inspiration from Stella and Knapp in my work, I decided to resolve all this work in a mixed media piece. The composition of this piece was inspired by Knapp's light paintings and my responses to them, in the previous book (the last image is where the composition cam from). Through acrylic paint, I introduced elements of Stella's patterns which I had previously been exploring digitally, likewise the bright flat colours came from my work off of Stella.
In addition to the 2D piece, I had now made, I added a 3D element as I am interested in how I can add an aspect changeability. By adding 3D shards of acetate I created an interactive piece which looked different depending on where you held the torch.
The standard position for the torch was the top left, this way all the lines, shadows and painted ones, originate from a point source however it is interesting how it can quickly become chaotic by moving the torch.
