COLOUR, LIGHT & LOCATION
Dylan Bedford | RGSHW | A Level Investigation
FINAL PIECE
For my final piece, I wanted to combine my previous experiments and research to create a piece that encapsulates the relationship between colour, light and location. In this scene, the huts are made out of porcelain with a light inside to make them glow. The porcelain, like paper, has an element of translucency and fragility much like the fading traditions of Ndebele people. On the right what represents the modern side of South Africa which has had larger western influences. The coloured light mainly falls on the modern side to accentuate the divide between the cultures, the contrast is also built up from the extreme height difference.
